From September 8-13, 2014 Pinpoint Laser Systems presented at IMTS (International Manufacturing Technology Show) at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. IMTS 2014 was a huge success and had a record number of attendees. We are proud to have been a part of America’s largest manufacturing technology show!
At IMTS 2014, we had the pleasure of meeting with nearly 2000 people and engaged in many different and interesting conversations regarding equipment and machinery alignment. The highlight of our booth was the debut of the Microgage PRO Laser Alignment System, the next generation in alignment in measurement tools at IMTS 2014. The Microgage PRO is an extremely versatile measuring and alignment tool that combines key laser alignment features and capabilities into one portable, compact, easy to use, product for multiple industries. By including a few simple accessories, the Microgage PRO quickly and precisely measures straightness, flatness, parallelism, squareness, bores, spindles and many other machine geometries. IMTS 2014 was the perfect venue to show off its “smart display” and the new wireless options that improve measuring range and provide the advantage of not being tied down in the field.
Of course, the Microgage PRO wasn’t all we discussed at our booth. There was also a lot of interest in our Spindle Alignment Kit, which offers two dimensional laser measuring and alignment in an easy to use, versatile, and affordable package. It can be adapted to a wide variety of industrial measuring and alignment requirements and is commonly used for aligning spindles, CNC turning centers, and mills.
Many booth visitors were searching for a way to transition from their current tools and methods to laser alignment. Pinpoint Laser System’s laser alignment technology provides a preventative maintenance tool that eliminates the need to wait for equipment to malfunction or break, furnishes the capability to create reports and maintenance records, and incorporates all the advantages of wireless capabilities.
In order to explain how our laser alignment technology is the solution to these needs, we did many live product demonstrations. Booth visitors were able to see existing products work in person and try them out. We demonstrated our spindle alignment and machine tool alignment. The demos were enhanced by showing our Capture software, which allows customizable alignment programs. Capture is a powerful, Windows-based application that quickly records incoming readings, displays results and enables added control. It interfaces cleanly with spreadsheets, statistical analysis packages and other programs.
