Precision engineering and automated manufacturing increasingly rely on laser alignment systems for alignment, measuring and positioning tasks. These systems are essential for ensuring that components and machinery are precisely aligned for improved efficiency, precision output and greater quality control.
A laser alignment system consists of a laser source that emits a beam that serves as a reference line or plane. A laser receiver detects the laser beam and measures it in relation to the reference point. The results are displayed digitally, allowing users to make necessary alignment corrections based on data.
Many receivers provide feedback along a single axis, typically in either the X or Y direction. More advanced receivers, such as Pinpoint’s Wireless Microgage 2-Axis Receiver, offer feedback in both the X and Y axes. This enables alignment in both horizontal and vertical directions. With its mulit-axis capability, the receiver is ideal for applications requiring high-precision alignment in multiple directions.
The Wireless Microgage 2-Axis Receiver operates wirelessly on two batteries, eliminating the need for cables. This design offers more flexibility for moving the receiver in different environments such as those with large machines, hard to reach spaces or remote areas. It also facilitates faster setups, as the receiver can be positioned quickly at different points for alignment, saving time and boosting productivity.

Why Use the Wireless Microgage Laser Receiver?
Accuracy: The 2-Axis receiver provides high precision, with an accuracy of 0.0001 inch (2.5 µm). Its ability to measure down to fractions of a millimeter make it ideal for precise applications like shaft alignment, machine setup and other industrial processes.
Distance/Range: The receiver has an expanding working range from 6 inches up to 180 feet, enabling accurate detection of the laser plane in both horizontal and vertical axes.
Ease of Use: A user-friendly interface features clear indicators for alignment, simplifying setup and operation. Its minimal and straightforward configuration requirements make it accessible to both experienced users and beginners. A digital readout displays measurements showing both horizontal and vertical deviations, eliminating the need for manual interpretations or analog readings. Feedback is provided in real-time, helping users make quick adjustments during alignment tasks.
Convenience: A portable wireless design allows for easy field use or transfers between locations without the hassle of wires. Users can connect up to fourfour or more wireless receivers to a display. The receiver can be used in various applications such as spindle and bore alignment, precision angular alignment, gantry alignment, straightness, linear and perpendicularity measurements, parallelism and more.
Durability: Machined from durable aluminum, the Wireless Microgage Laser Receiver is designed to withstand tough environments, rough handling and drops. However, proper care is important to maintain its accuracy and longevity.
The Wireless Microgage Laser Receiver is compatible with the Microgage PRO Laser Alignment system. A standard version is available for users who do not require a wireless connection. PinPoint is also introducing a Cylindrical 4-Axis Microgage receiver that measures two linear axes (X and Y) as well as their two angular components (yaw and pitch). This receiver is suitable for aligning lathes, turning centers and spindles as well as injection molding machinery.
